A day out with mom

I share a very close relation with my mom. I know every one does, but she is not just my mom but my sis, my friend......my everything. Ever since my date of joining for TCS has come, every minute i spend with her matters a lot to me. I just want to make every moment special for her. And hence now days we spend lot of time together doing shopping and stuffs like that.

Sunday dad went out of station for some official work, and was coming back on Tuesday. So we had a Monday in between where i and my mom could do SHOPPING. Not that dad restricted us from doing this(he is very liberal that way), but its more comfortable to shop when he is not at home, cause otherwise mom's half heart is with dad at home, and she feels uncomfortable to leave him alone. So i and mom made plans to go to CST (fashion street) for shopping some clothes and all for me. Shopping with mom is so much fun, she is very good at bargaining and Fashion street is a place where u have to start with half the price labelled on the dress. I always feel very uncomfortable to bargain, so i just go in the shop select a dress that i like and then give it to mom to do what she is very good at BARGAINING. Though i am not good at it but i enjoy watching the scene :-). I some times just wonder why the hell do these shopkeepers put such rates when they know they will come down to half of it.

So we went and purchased some dresses for me. When i was there i remembered my closest friend Rama so much. She asked me to purchase some dress materials and some other stuff for her. Though i found many nice dresses which will suit her but i didn't take cause i thought its better if  she selects it herself. Btw she is coming on 6th December to my place from Hyderabad, just to meet me, it makes me feel so special :-). So i just took some stuff for me. I was looking for some footwear too, but i guess my entire family is so biased to Blue Land(a footwear shop in Chembur). Ever since we discovered this shop, no other shop could attract us. Then when we were done with Fashion street we came back to CST station and had a samosa pao, i found that place to be very reasonable with rates and the samosa was good too. At the end of it what matters is the taste.

Then my mom just remembered that there is one more such market where u get not clothes but other daily use materials at very cheap prices, that place is called cruffet market(at a walkable distance). She showed her willingness to go there (advantage of dad not being at home, no hurry for dinner) so we decided that we will go there. I didn't exactly know the way to the market but i remembered my brother telling me once, and also mom has been there once, but she didn't remember it properly. So energized by the samosa, we started going. Up to some distance it was okay, but as we were nearing cruffet market it started to stink like hell, yuk........it was the smell of fish chicken and all(sorry no hard feelings for non vegetarians). To add to all this the drainage nearby was also stinking...........yuk yuk yuk (i really felt like puking). After a point i just could not control my self, i and my mom both decided that we will go there some other day, the smell was just so intolerable.

So we walked away faster than the speed with which we walked towards it. Quickly we caught a local train and came back home. Umph.......done. Took bath, sprayed some room freshener to nullify the torture to my nose, mom had a cup of tea and i had coffee, mission accomplished. Where ever we may go, but HOME always remains the best place in this world. :-)

AAMCHI MUMBAI

MUMBAI...........this city had no or very little importance to me some 4 years back. It is almost 4 years 4 months  :-D since my dad got transferred here. Previously i stayed at a place called ASHWAPURAM .........over night journey from Hyderabad. I shifted here with a heavy heart, not that i had any thing for or against Mumbai but just that i had to come out of my comfort zone where i stayed for 15 long years. Well initially getting adjusted to a city like Mumbai was very difficult for me. Be it be the traffic , the pollution or the crowd.......every thing got on my nerves (human nature to find the faults first:-D).

But now after more than 4 years of stay i admit that Mumbai is a beautiful city. Living in Mumbai is a completely different experience. It is the spirit that people here live with that makes it a awesome city. From terror attacks to local trains travelling, heavy rains to crowded buses..........all exemplify the spirit of Mubaikars.

Heavy rains is very common in Mumbai, it starts some where in mid July and continues till around October. One thing that first fascinated me in Mumbai is the approach of people to rains. Be it be school children or office going elders, bhaji walas or celebrities, no one stops because of rains. One that i love the most is boys playing footballs in heavy rains. Their kicks to the ball splashes the muddy water all around and u can see euphoria on their face, I wish i could do that......... . And ya before u abhor my opinion, try it ,it is too much fun. Seriously i have not seen any other place giving such warm welcome to rains. And yes there is a reason to it. When it rain 24x7 for 3-4 months what else can u do :-P. They say na if u can't fight it accept it :-)

Next thing that fascinated me in Mumbai was local trains here. Wao!!! Mumbaikars call it 'LIFE LINE', and yes it truely is. It is because of these trains that people can move from one part to another without traffic jams. And these trains are so puntual that u can't find delay of even a single second. Some times in monsoons the waterlogged rails cause delay in train arrivals and this results in a chaos at station..........which shows how essentially these trains are part of life here.

Mumbai has a rich artistic and architectural heritage which is reflected in the various buildings that are spread across the city. Be it be Chatrapati Shivaji Terminal or Hotel TAJ, Gate way of India or Nariman point all are treat to the eyes. And finally any discussion of Mumbai is incomplete with out talking abt WADA PAOS & SAMOSA PAOs. They r the most economical and yummy things to eat for quick relief from hunger. And u get it every where in the city. Yeah even i developed taste for it(i didn't like buns) and now i relish it.

Ofcourse there are some anti social acts that test the spirit of Mumbaikars but the fact that Mumbai never stops is always proved right :-). Well i believe that every one should once visit this city and experience the fast life here. And perfect time to visit this place is in the monsoons.

Soon i'll have to leave this city for my job but the experience that i had here will always remain close to my heart :-). Will miss u Mumbai :-)

MY FIRST BLOG EVER

Well finally i am here writing my first blog ever. It will be unfair to write it without thanking Aziz..............as his blogs inspired me to start blogging. Well for those who don't know, Aziz is a school friend of mine who stays in Hyderabad. So ppl if u find sm similarities with Aziz's style of writing then plz forgive me, it's just that he is too good and i am a starter. :-)

Okay after one full day of thinking about how to start i could come up with one thing that is bothering me for past two days.

I never read books...............i always wondered how can some one read novels. Trust me friends tried many times, but maximum i read was two pages, thats all. I found it difficult to imagine characters without video's to my eyes. Well sm where towards the end of engineering(7th sem i guess) on Prachee's advice i started reading Twilight. Prachee is a college friend. Well i don't think any girl can hate that book (exceptions no hard feelings). Blame it to the natural instincts of girl to love romantic stories or the awesome description of Edward (the hero) by Stephenie Meyer. What ever........i loved the novel and for the first time i COMPLETED A NOVEL. I was so happy. Happy because nothing was wrong with me it were the novels that i read before which were to be blamed (human nature......blame others :-D). And yes i completed second book too and third half done.

After reading these novels i even saw the movies and of course they were a disappointment. I heard often movies based on novels turn out to be so .......and i think it is logical because of the time constraint.

Okay with all this in my life, some months back i heard that a serial based on Twilight is going to come and guess who is the concept giver..................yeah EKTA KAPOOR (the drama queen). Some times in life u r curious about things not because they r interesting but because u want to know how bad it can go. So on 18th October at 8:30 pm on starone.............the disaster happened. The serial named "pyaar ki ek kahani"(hope i am not wrong). My god!!!!! Except for the fact that the serial has a guy who runs very fast like edward, nothing is similar to novel. I think he is also a vampire in the serial ............guess so. What ever....i don't think this serial is even remotely based on the novel TWILIGHT. After all every story that has Vampire is not TWILIGHT. I mean come on yaar..........this is so pathetic.

Khair, its not that i won't see the serial ;-), i will because i don't have any thing better to do. At least i can curse Ekta Kapoor for comparing it with TWILIGHT. :-D. For all those who see serials.............just see it as a new story.

And i hope my blog made some sense :-D
